Location and Working Environment
This position is located in Levallois-Perret, France.
This position is hybrid and will require you to be onsite 2 days per week.

Purpose & Scope
- Provide strategic medical and scientific expertise in support of all affiliate Medical Affairs deliverables and cross-functional activities
- Demonstrate matrix leadership by developing and maintaining integrated partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure all MA affiliate activities address local needs and advance the medical/scientific understanding of Astellas products across their lifecycle
- Responsible for understanding and engage external stakeholders to advance the understanding of and science behind compounds in development, the safe and effective use of Astellas products and disease states that they treat.
- Responsible for engaging and working closely with key internal stakeholders, including the brand teams across the affiliate to achieve business objectives for the affiliate.
- Ensures all affiliate MA activities deliver value and are based on scientific validity, clinical importance and on time & budget
Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain deep expertise in the therapeutic area, including trends, unmet needs, and competitors
- Engage external stakeholders (HCPs, payers, decision-makers) to gather and share insights
- Continuously develop scientific knowledge through training and research
- Organize advisory boards to gather expert input across product lifecycle
- Generate and share medical insights internally to inform strategy and planning
- Identify unmet needs and develop/execute the Core Medical Plan (CMP) aligned with global and local strategies
- Deliver medical activities (launches, education, events) on time and within budget
- Leverage global/regional initiatives to support local objectives
- Support clinical development, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and operations teams
- Partner with commercial functions (Marketing, Market Access, Sales) with scientific expertise
- Review promotional materials and ensure compliance
- Provide training and scientific support across the organization
- Collaborate with HEOR and Market Access to generate data and support access strategies
- Engage key external experts (KEEs) and stakeholders for scientific exchange
- Deliver medical education and develop non-promotional materials
Role and Responsibilities (continues)
- Support and review grants, investigator-sponsored research, and educational funding
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance of funded activities
- Ensure all activities follow company policies, regulations, and ethical standards
- Work with compliance teams to review and guide activities
- Build and maintain relationships with key experts
- Drive scientific exchange and collaboration within the therapeutic area
Required Qualifications
- Master degree in Health related Science or equivalent
- Previous experience in Medical Affairs
- Strong expertise in the therapeutic area including clinical/ hospital practice, clinical development, experience in designing, executing and reporting of clinical trials
- Understanding of the drug development process as well as commercialization
- Good understanding of the dynamics of a large corporate environment; comfortable with matrix reporting lines.
- Knowledge and strong understanding of and ability to comply with industry laws and regulations.
- Experienced in managing complex projects independently (such as but not limited to Advisory Boards, Publications, etc...)
- Proactive strategic partnering with different internal functions
- Developed presentation skills confirmed by the audience
- Excellent presentation skills; fully fluent in written and verbal business English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstration of delegated responsibilities successfully completed, e.g. acting as a backup for a Therapy Area Lead at key, internal or external meetings.
- Previous experience in transplantation
